Healthy Meal suggestions for Outback Steakhouse

Food is like any other Outback. No surprises there. Staff is friendly and cheerful. Clean dining environment, and even the bathrooms are clean! It does get busy at dinner time, especially with two hotels right behind the location, so plan accordingly. Come in for a late lunch, and the place is very quite.

Usually a four start restaurant but bad experiences change my score, Three times to return a steak not cooked right, three cold baked potatoes, slow service. If it improves on my next visit I will be happy to change my ratings. The manager did volunteer to not charge for this meal, and I took him up on it. No excuse for this type of service.

It was okay. I'd never been to an outback before and I wanted to try the blooming onion. It was pretty good. The food was just okay. I had the French onion soup and Asian salad. The soup was cold and the salad was so lightly dressed that you could barely taste it. The flavors were good taking that into consideration though, and the chicken on my salad was grilled perfectly. I'm being generous with my 3 stars, but I feel bad giving them the 2 I thought my experience was, only because there were so many unruly children in the restaurant, likely due to the family hotel in the same parking lot. But really, the kids make it not great for a date night.

With call ahead seating had an hour wait & the worst service & the coldest steak I have ever had. Just an awful experience.

Worst customer service ever. Was waiting over 10 min on the phone to place takeout order.

Get there early to find parking & quick seating. Food was very consistent with others in the chain. Service was pretty good & the ambience was alright, too.

Worst ever. I walked over from a near Hotel TWICE to fix THEIR mistakes with my to go order and no one even offered to compensate me for the inconvenience. I won't be returning ever. Screw them

Worst experience ever at an Outback. This is one of my favorite chains for steak but this location the service is horrible. Our server was about as excited to serve us as I am going to have a prostate exam. He was slower than the turtle in the cartoon tortoise and the hare. The steak medallions we said to burn, black, well done...in other words you can't burn them enough. They came out pink still in the middle. The Outback Special was supposed to be medium well, but was more like medium rare. Oh extra bread and sodas...is like pulling teeth. Horrible horrible horrible service at this location.

The waitress forgot to bring the wedge salad. They brought it almost as a desert, after I was almost done with my steak and baked potato. The bread and butter were great and warm. My daughter had pork ribs with steam broccoli. She enjoyed them as they weren't too spicy.

I used call ahead seating and even though our party of eight had not all arrived, we were seated and the server took and delivered our beverage orders. The food was consistent with other Outback experiences, but the level of service provided by Heather was stellar! She was personable, patient (we are all geriatrics), and gave amazing service. Two of us had ordered coffee, our nearly emptied mugs were replaced with fresh hot coffees before we had even asked for a refill! The food was served promptly, hot, and correctly.

Total lack of customer service at this location. I've had Outback in more states and cities than I care to count, but this particular franchise did not live up to the usually friendly and accommodating experience my family has grown to love and expect. Honestly, this place reminded me more of the countless terrible experiences I've had at Chili's back in Miami near my home. Lets start with the "estimated" time, we were a party of six including two small children, so we where told 35-40 minutes, we weighed the limited options in the surrounding area (Boston Market next door) and decided to wait what we thought was 40 minutes. Sadly, it was more than an hour and twenty minutes before we were seated, this after waiting at least 15 additional minutes inside by the hostess stand for the vacated table to get cleaned (seriously 15 minutes!! Give me a rag and a plastic bin and I would have cleaned it myself in a couple minutes flat, including taking a break in the middle). Worst of all, we had spoken to the hostess with the clipboard and pre-ordered the food for our toddlers, as is often the case at other Outback, or so we thought she had. Apparently, saying "yes, yes, right away, no problem..." just means go away, I'm going to totally ignore your request. Once finally seated, the waiter oblivious to the order frantically starts looking for the pre-ordered food and ultimately brings out what looked like penne pasta in a watery dribble for my kids, who immediately said that was not Mac and Cheese... to make a long story short (too late) we ate our food and left without dessert so our kids could eat food back in the hotel, and all we got from the manager-like kid in a tie, was a smile and a promise he would go talk to the staff to let them know not to preorder food. Seriously, I had a similar evening at an Outback in Miami two weeks ago and not only did the Manager have the kids food at the table when we were finally seated after a two hour wait, but he also comp'd our appetizers and gave us a sincere apology for taking so long past the estimated time. Our food was okay, but with the kids hungry and every one upset and in a hurry to get out of this place, we did not enjoy the meal and will never return to this particular Outback in Winter Haven when we visit Legoland again.

Ok, I usually figure chain or corporate restaurants should always be at least average for food and service but this one excelled in each. If you want the old style great service and food Outback use to offer then do stop here !
